Last Chance Cotton Mountains Bandana | Navy
This new bandana is an homage to my favourite historical quilt pattern: Delectable Mountains. Hand-drawn and lettered details reinterpret the charming “wonk” of this slashed rectangle quilt. I love the name “Delectable Mountains” as much as the transfixing pattern. I began designing this bandana in the spring when I moved to Oregon, just days before the pandemic shutdown. In the book Pilgrim’s Progress the delectable mountains represent both hope and fear to the traveler. They are a sign that the destination is close, yet hold dangerous falls should a pilgrim stray from the path. I could see the Cascade Mountain peaks from my neighborhood bubble and yearned to explore them. Instead I stayed home, stayed vigilant, and tried to stay hopeful.
